Cookie Policy
What Mentur stores in your browser, why it uses it, and how to change your choice about optional cookies.
Last updated: 27 October 2026
Mentur uses cookies to run the application, remember your preferences and, if you agree, understand how its public pages are used. This page explains their purposes and how to control your choice. For more information about your data and documents, read our Privacy Policy.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small pieces of data a website stores in your browser to recognize a session or remember a choice. Some are necessary to use Mentur; others, such as analytics cookies, are optional and require your prior acceptance.
We also use browser storage to keep preferences and drafts between visits or while a tab is open, as explained below.
2. Necessary cookies and preferences
Necessary cookies allow us to provide and protect the service. Preference cookies remember language and interface settings. Both groups work independently of your choice about optional analytics.
| Purpose | What they do | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
| Session and security | Maintain your session and protect forms against unauthorized requests. | 2 hours, renewed with activity. |
| Guest identification | Recognize your browser when you analyze without an account, link your documents and reports, and apply usage limits. | 180 days by default; this may vary with the service configuration. |
| Stay signed in | Remember your access when you select “Remember me” or sign in with Google. | Up to 400 days. Signing out invalidates that access. |
| Language and interface preferences | Remember the language, appearance and sidebar state. | Language and appearance: 365 days from when they are saved. Sidebar: 7 days from the change. |
| Cookie consent | Save whether you accepted or rejected optional cookies. | 180 days from your most recent choice. |
Browsers may shorten these periods. A cookie's expiry does not determine how long your documents or data remain in Mentur. Deleting guest identification may prevent you from accessing your reports again without an account.
The site uses Cloudflare for delivery and Bunny Fonts for fonts, as technical services separate from analytics. If you choose to sign in with Google, its authentication service manages cookies on its own domain; this is separate from accepting Google Analytics.
3. Optional analytics
Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity require your prior acceptance. Mentur limits them to permitted public pages and excludes documents, reports and the viewer, account areas, sign-in and registration screens, and administration from loading them, even if you have accepted.
Google Analytics provides statistics to help us understand visits and improve the site. It may collect pages visited, referral sources and general browser or device characteristics.
Microsoft Clarity helps us understand how people use pages through heatmaps and session replays. It may collect clicks, scrolling and interactions with displayed content to identify navigation difficulties.
| Provider and main cookies | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
Google Analytics: _ga | Distinguish visitors. | 2 years by default. |
Google Analytics: _ga_<container-id> | Maintain analytics session state. | 2 years by default. |
Microsoft Clarity: _clck and _clsk | Recognize visitors and group their visits into a session. | Their lifetime depends on Microsoft's service and browser limits. |
Google Analytics lifetimes may change with its settings and browser limits. Read more in the Google Analytics documentation and Clarity cookie information.
Microsoft also describes cookies on its own domains for browser identification and identifier synchronization: CLID, ANONCHK, MR, MUID and SM. Among these, MUID may serve Microsoft's advertising, analytics and operational purposes. Their presence depends on the service and browser restrictions.
4. Information saved in your browser
Mentur saves some usage preferences to remember settings and avoid repeating tutorials and notices. Some information lasts while the tab is open; other information remains between visits until you remove it. For example, dismissing the report feedback prompt postpones its automatic appearance for 24 hours.
Information you enter in the APA title page tool, including names and other fields, may stay saved in that browser until you delete it. You can remove it by clearing the form or deleting site data in your browser settings. Keep this in mind when using a shared computer.
Rejecting optional analytics does not erase these drafts or functional preferences. Clearing browser storage does not delete your account, documents or reports stored by Mentur either.
5. How to accept, reject or change your choice
The notice appears on public pages with optional analytics when no choice has been saved. Accept saves your permission without reloading the page or interrupting document selection; it does not force analytics to activate immediately.
Configure opens a window where you can turn the optional analytics category on or off. This category includes Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity. It is off if you have not made a choice yet. Select Save preferences to apply your choice or Reject optional cookies to keep analytics blocked. You can continue using Mentur, uploading documents and viewing reports even if you reject analytics. Closing the window without saving does not change your choice or authorize analytics.
Your choice is saved for 180 days in that browser. You can reopen the window to change it or withdraw consent through Cookies in the footer of public pages where optional analytics is offered. Functional and preference cookies remain independent of this choice. The Cookie Policy link opens this information; it does not change your choice.
If you switch from accepting to rejecting, Mentur reloads the page to remove any trackers that may have loaded and attempts to delete known analytics cookies it can control. Mentur cannot guarantee deletion of cookies on third-party domains or withdraw information already sent to a provider.
If you delete your choice, change browsers or the period expires, the notice will ask you to choose again. Accepting or rejecting does not change retention of your account or documents.
6. How to clear cookies and contact Mentur
In your browser's privacy settings, find “Cookies” or “Website data”, select mentur.co and delete its data. To remove Google or Microsoft cookies, check their domains too. You can also block third-party cookies there.
Deleting Mentur data may sign you out, erase drafts, reset preferences and remove guest access. Blocking all cookies, including necessary ones, may prevent sign-in or form submission; rejecting only optional analytics does not prevent you from using the service.
