Terms and Conditions
Terms that govern access to Mentur and use of its features.
Last updated: 30 May 2026
These Terms and Conditions govern access to and use of Mentur, a technology application for analyzing academic documents and supporting the review of aspects of format, structure, citation, references, presentation, and other criteria configured within the platform.
By creating an account, logging in, uploading a document, making a payment, using a feature, or continuing to use Mentur, you accept these Terms and Conditions, as well as Mentur's Privacy Policy and Personal Data Processing Policy.
If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not use the application.
1. Identification of the controller
The Mentur service is operated by:
Controller: Andrés Rivas
Trade name: Mentur
Country: Colombia
Contact email: [email protected]
Website: https://mentur.co
Mentur may update this information if in the future it operates under an individual merchant, commercial establishment, company, or another legal structure.
2. Description of the service
Mentur is a technology support tool for analyzing academic documents and generating automatic reports about possible errors, warnings, observations, or aspects for improvement related to format, structure, citation, references, presentation, and other academic criteria configured in the application.
Mentur is not personalized academic advice, does not replace the review of instructors, universities, advisors, juries, editors, or professionals, and does not constitute an official certification of compliance with academic standards.
Mentur's purpose is to help the user identify possible aspects for improvement in their document, but the user remains responsible for reviewing, interpreting, and deciding how to use the results before submitting, publishing, or presenting their work.
3. Scope and limitations of the analysis
The analyses, reports, recommendations, observations, or corrections generated by Mentur are automatic results based on technical criteria and rules configured within the application.
Although Mentur seeks to provide useful and accurate results, the user understands and accepts that:
- The analysis may contain errors, omissions, incorrect interpretations, or incomplete results.
- Mentur does not guarantee that it will detect every error present in a document.
- Mentur does not guarantee that a document is 100% correct.
- Mentur does not guarantee academic approval, a grade, institutional acceptance, or compliance with particular criteria of a university, instructor, jury, publisher, or entity.
- Mentur does not provide plagiarism detection or artificial intelligence detection services, unless that functionality is expressly offered within the application.
- Educational institutions may have their own criteria that differ from the general criteria or criteria configured in Mentur.
- Results may change over time due to improvements, technical adjustments, changes in internal rules, or system updates.
The user is responsible for reviewing the final document before submitting it, presenting it, or using it in any academic, professional, or institutional context.
4. Guest users and registered users
Mentur may allow use of certain features without creating an account. Guest users may upload documents and access a limited view of the report, according to the service's internal rules.
Registered users may access additional features, view more information, consult reports associated with their account, and use available functionalities according to their user type, plan, internal limits, or service availability.
Registering with Mentur does not guarantee complete, unlimited, or permanent access to all errors, reports, features, or results. The amount of visible information may vary according to user type, document size, available plan, internal system limits, commercial rules, or account status.
When a user uploads documents as a guest and later creates an account or logs in, Mentur may link those documents or reports to the user's account when technically possible and in accordance with the application's internal rules.
5. Accounts, access, and security
The user is responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their access credentials, protecting their account, and preventing unauthorized use by third parties.
Mentur may require email verification, additional authentication, or other security measures to access certain functionalities.
Mentur may reject, limit, suspend, or block registrations, accounts, or access when it detects or suspects:
- Use of temporary, disposable, suspicious, or risky email addresses.
- Unauthorized access attempts.
- Brute force, credential stuffing, or abuse patterns.
- Duplicate accounts used to evade limits.
- Abusive shared use of accounts.
- Fraudulent, automated, or Terms-violating activity.
- Security risks for Mentur, its users, or third parties.
As long as Mentur has not implemented organization plans, team plans, or business accounts, each account is intended mainly for individual use. Mentur may establish restrictions or controls to prevent abusive, shared, or massive use of the same account.
6. Documents uploaded by the user
Currently, Mentur allows uploading documents in .docx format, with an initial maximum size of 40 MB, unless the application indicates different limits.
Mentur may reject, block, delete, or not process files when:
- They do not comply with the permitted format.
- They exceed size limits.
- They are damaged, incomplete, protected, corrupted, or incompatible.
- They present a security risk.
- They contain malware, malicious code, or dangerous elements.
- They generate technical errors, overload, or affect operation of the service.
- They are used to infringe third-party rights or violate these Terms.
The user declares that they have the rights, authorization, or legal basis necessary to upload the documents to Mentur and allow their analysis. The user must not upload third-party documents without authorization or files that violate copyright, privacy, confidentiality, or other third-party rights.
Mentur is not a permanent document storage service. The application may retain documents, reports, and derived files for the periods defined in the Privacy Policy, but it does not guarantee indefinite availability, permanent retention, or future recovery of all files or reports.
The user must always keep their own copy of the original document and of any file they consider important.
7. Sensitive data and document content
Mentur does not intentionally request sensitive data to provide the service. However, the user may include sensitive, confidential, or private information in their documents, such as health data, family information, data of minors, financial information, personal academic information, opinions, third-party data, or other private information.
The user is responsible for reviewing the content of the document before uploading it and for avoiding inclusion of sensitive or unnecessary information for the analysis.
Mentur may delete or restrict documents, reports, or accounts when it identifies content that creates legal, technical, or security risks or affects third-party rights.
8. Limited license over documents
The user retains ownership and any rights that may correspond to them over the documents they upload to Mentur.
By uploading a document, the user grants Mentur a limited, non-exclusive, temporary license necessary to:
- Receive and store the document.
- Process it technically.
- Analyze its content.
- Generate reports.
- Show previews.
- Create derived files necessary for the service.
- Produce automatic corrections, when the user requests that functionality.
- Provide support.
- Review technical cases.
- Improve the operation, stability, and accuracy of the application, in accordance with the Privacy Policy.
This license does not transfer ownership of the document to Mentur and does not authorize Mentur to sell, publish, commercialize, or distribute the user's academic content for purposes unrelated to operation of the service.
9. Reports and results
Reports generated by Mentur may include detected errors, warnings, observations, metrics, document fragments, references, citations, headings, structure, format, and other elements necessary to explain the results.
Mentur may limit the number of visible errors, observations, or information according to user type, plan, internal limits, technical availability, document size, commercial rules, or account status.
The user must not attempt to evade limits by repeatedly uploading the same file, using minimal variations of the document, creating multiple accounts, using automation, or applying other methods intended to manipulate service restrictions.
Mentur may apply technical mechanisms to detect repeated uploads, limit duplicate analyses, restrict access, or suspend accounts that attempt to evade application limits.
10. Automatic correction and artificial intelligence
Mentur may offer automatic correction, corrected file generation, suggestions, recommendations, or assistance based on artificial intelligence or language models.
When the user uses automatic correction, Mentur may process the original document, analysis results, relevant fragments, detected issues, and instructions necessary to generate a new corrected or assisted version of the document.
Automatic correction may generate a new file based on the original document. The user must carefully review the corrected file before submitting it, presenting it, publishing it, or using it.
The user understands and accepts that:
- Automatic correction may contain errors, omissions, style changes, or incorrect interpretations.
- Automatic correction does not guarantee full compliance with particular institutional criteria.
- Automatic correction does not guarantee academic approval, a grade, institutional acceptance, or absence of observations by third parties.
- Automatic correction is not equivalent to performing the academic work for the user.
- The user remains responsible for the content, originality, citations, sources, structure, interpretation, and final submission of the document.
Mentur may reject or limit automatic corrections of documents that are too long, damaged, illegible, incompatible, unsafe, or that exceed the technical or commercial limits of the service.
If an automatic correction has a technical failure attributable to Mentur, the platform may offer, depending on the case, reprocessing, support, generation of a new version, credits, or refund according to the applicable policy. Improvements derived from user feedback may depend on future software updates and do not guarantee immediate delivery.
11. Plans, usage limits, and features
Mentur may offer free features, features for registered users, paid plans, credits, payments per document, subscriptions, automatic corrections, or other access models.
Limits, prices, features, and specific conditions may be indicated within the application, pricing page, user dashboard, payment screen, or corresponding commercial communications.
Mentur may establish, modify, or apply limits related to:
- Number of uploaded documents.
- File size.
- Number of analyses.
- Number of automatic corrections.
- Access to reports.
- Download of corrected files.
- Use by user, account, session, device, IP, or payment method.
- Available technical capacity.
- Processing priority.
- User level, plan, or purchase made.
Mentur may process documents through queues, technical prioritization, or internal rules based on availability, user type, order, plan, system load, or service status. Processing times may vary.
Mentur may change prices, limits, plans, access rules, and features without affecting purchases already made, unless the modification is necessary for technical, legal, security, or force majeure reasons.
12. Payments
Mentur may offer paid services through Wompi, PayPal, or other payment providers incorporated in the future.
Payments may be available in Colombian pesos, United States dollars, or other currencies, according to country, payment method, provider, sales channel, or applicable commercial configuration.
Mentur may establish different prices according to country, currency, promotion, sales channel, user type, plan, feature, or commercial availability.
Access to a paid feature will be enabled when payment is confirmed by the payment provider or by Mentur's internal systems. If a payment is pending, rejected, under review, or unconfirmed, the user must wait for the corresponding confirmation or contact support.
Mentur may cancel, suspend, reverse, or limit access to paid features when a payment is rejected, fraudulent, charged back, reversed, disputed, or not confirmed by the payment provider.
The user will be responsible for bank charges, fees, taxes, exchange differences, payment provider costs, or charges applied by their bank, card, wallet, platform, or financial institution.
Mentur does not directly store complete credit or debit card data, security codes, banking passwords, or complete financial credentials of the user. These data are managed by the corresponding payment providers.
13. Refunds, withdrawal, and guarantees
Mentur may establish refund, credit, or reprocessing policies for paid services, according to the purchased feature, payment status, service use, and applicable conditions.
The user may request review of a payment or service by writing to [email protected] within five (5) business days following the purchase, payment, or delivery of the feature, as applicable.
Mentur may evaluate refunds, credits, or reprocessing in cases such as:
- Duplicate charge.
- Approved payment but feature not delivered.
- Technical failure attributable to Mentur.
- Serious error in generation of the corrected file.
- Technical impossibility of providing the purchased service.
- Other cases reasonably evaluated by Mentur.
Mentur may deny refunds when:
- The user is subjectively dissatisfied with the result, but the service was provided.
- The university, instructor, jury, platform, or third party does not accept the document.
- The user uploaded the wrong, incomplete, damaged, incompatible file or a file with incorrect information.
- The user expected a function that was not offered or described at the time of purchase.
- The user did not review the description, limits, or conditions of the service.
- The user changed their mind after the service had started or been provided.
- The document contained original errors, incomplete information, or problems that exceed Mentur's scope.
- The access or functionality has already been used, processed, or consumed, unless there is a technical failure attributable to Mentur or an applicable legal obligation.
When appropriate, Mentur may offer credits, reprocessing, or a new generation of the result as an alternative to returning money.
Refunds, reversals, or disputes may also depend on the rules, timeframes, and decisions of Wompi, PayPal, financial institutions, card issuers, or other payment providers.
In the event of a chargeback, dispute, fraud, or claim before PayPal, Wompi, or another payment provider, Mentur may temporarily or permanently suspend access to the paid feature, generated file, report, or related account while the situation is resolved.
Mentur offers a reasonable technical operation guarantee over paid features, but does not guarantee academic results, institutional approval, acceptance by third parties, a specific grade, or total absence of errors.
14. Permitted and prohibited use
The user agrees to use Mentur legally, responsibly, and in accordance with these Terms.
It is prohibited to:
- Use bots, scraping, unauthorized automation, or unauthorized massive use.
- Attempt to compromise, affect, overload, manipulate, or interfere with the application.
- Perform reverse engineering, exploit vulnerabilities, or attempt unauthorized access.

- Use Mentur's brand, interface, reports, structure, methodology, or functionalities to create competing, derivative, or unauthorized copy services.
Mentur may limit, suspend, delete, block, or restrict accounts, documents, reports, payments, or access when it detects or suspects breach of these Terms.
15. Responsible use
Mentur is a support tool. The user must use it in accordance with their institution's rules, their instructors' instructions, the rules applicable to their academic work, and current law.
The user is responsible for the content, originality, citations, sources, references, structure, accuracy, editing, and final submission of their document.
Mentur can help improve presentation, format, structure, citation, or reference aspects, but does not guarantee that the document will be academically accepted by an institution, instructor, jury, editor, platform, or third party.
16. Mentur intellectual property
Mentur retains all rights over the platform, software, code, design, interface, brand, trade name, logo, texts, reports, methodology, rules, algorithms, technical bases, structure, documentation, and other elements belonging to the service.
The user may not copy, clone, reproduce, modify, distribute, resell, exploit, create derivative services, or use Mentur elements without prior written authorization.

Use of the Mentur name, logo, or brand does not grant the user any ownership right over those distinctive signs.
17. Availability, maintenance, and service changes
Mentur is offered "as is" and "as available," without promising continuous, uninterrupted, or error-free availability.
Mentur may experience interruptions, delays, failures, errors, maintenance, temporary loss of access, or limitations for technical, security, system load, force majeure, external provider, or service improvement reasons.
Mentur may modify, suspend, limit, replace, or discontinue functionalities when it considers it necessary for technical, commercial, legal, security, stability, or product improvement reasons.
Mentur does not guarantee permanent retention of reports, documents, corrected files, or derived files. The user must keep their own copies of the documents and results they consider important when the application allows download or consultation.
18. Support
The official support channel is [email protected]. Mentur may enable additional channels, such as WhatsApp, web forms, or chat, depending on availability.
Support will be provided within a reasonable period and may focus on technical questions, application operation, payments, account access, processing errors, or service-related problems.
Mentur support is not equivalent to personalized academic advice, comprehensive human review of the document, tutoring, professional editing, or methodological assistance, unless Mentur expressly offers an additional service of that nature.
19. Privacy and data processing
Processing of personal data, documents, cookies, analytics, artificial intelligence, external providers, payments, communications, and other privacy-related information is governed by Mentur's Privacy Policy and Personal Data Processing Policy.
By using Mentur, the user accepts these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If the user does not agree with the Privacy Policy, they must not use the application or upload documents.
